Why did @FrStephenDeYoung convert from Protestantism to Orthodox Christianity?
@ToviaSinger1 has a theory: antisemitism. If you hate Jews, you hate Israel. If you hate Israel, you would prefer Catholicism to Anglicanism because the Anglican Church and America immediately recognised Israel in 1948. It took the Catholic Church till 1993 to recognise Israel. The Orthodox Church has never recognised Israel.
The most innocent reason for Americans converting from the Protestantism of their ancestors is that they want a Christianity considerably older than the 250 years their republic has been in existence.
A more nefarious reason - if you consider White Nationalism to be nefarious - is that Orthodox Christianity is more antisemitic and non-American and the Christianity of Putin and Dugin for self-hating Americans who hate what American Christianity and liberalism has done to their country and demographics.
White Nationalists do not seem to know that Russia is the largest European country with the highest percentage of Muslim citizens.
The European country with the highest percentage of Muslim citizens is Azerbaijan, where the population is 95–100% Muslim.
