34:00 I think David finds it hard to listen to me make points because he already knows where it is going.
39:00 Is trying to have a conversation about something people can understand with a takeaway point really "colonising and taking over"?
44:00 In what way does it seem that I am possessed by demons?
46:00 Secular Koranism ignores the conflicting narratives in Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The key issue is whether it is idolatry to worship Jesus. If you ask Jews and Muslims nicely, they will tell you that that is what they really think of the Trinity. Then you will have to decide whether you care what they think. Will Christians ever wonder how God might feel about worshiped as Jesus whom even Christians have to acknowledge was executed for blasphemy? Not if you want to stay Christian since the Trinity is totemic of the most powerful churches in existence ie Catholicism, Anglicanism and Orthodox Christianity. To be a Unitarian Christian like Sam just to remain in the fold of Christianity would mean lowering one's status to that of a heretic since that is how Trinitarians treat Unitarians unless they leave the fold of Christianity to either become Muslim or Noahide.
My position on idolatry is that you are an idolater if you are neither a Jew nor a Muslim. This means all other religions is idolatry. What is the harm of idolatry even if God does not exist to punish anyone for anything?
It is the opportunity cost of not being rightly-guided by the Koran.
Are you familiar with the concept of opportunity cost?
47:00 Does David think I am a believing Muslim? I am an agnostic political and social scientist as well as a moral and political philosopher who understands the nature and purpose of religion. Even atheists would agree that religion has a utility, do they not? Religion has the utility of bringing about the social cohesion of your society necessary for group survival. Whether or not you believe in God, this must be the case. Otherwise, no one would bother having a moral system either religious or secular.
48:30 What I am saying really should not be that hard to understand for college-educated English-speaking Americans complaining about their government concerned about their future crying "O tempora! O mores!" My conclusion is that you really do not understand, which is exasperating, or are pretending not to understand, which is infuriating.
49:00 I would have thought that if people are annoying you and trying to tell you something, it is only polite to listen to them if you have time and care about being polite, or if you are a YouTuber whose purpose is to produce meaningful content. Failing to ask the obvious next question seems to be pathological to men in denial, who already half know the answer but do not want it confirmed. "What do you want from me?" or "What do you want to tell me?" seem the natural questions people claiming to offer internet hospitality should ask.
50:00 Is David claiming to be a Noahide? Why is he still Christian then?
54:00 Yep, the sin of idolatry - a mortal sin - is its own punishment. Christians don't want to discuss idolatry while Jews and Muslims are still too afraid of their Christian overlords to tell them to their faces that it is idolatry to worship a man.
59:00 Bible Study
1:00:00 Does David realise that Jews do not want gentiles celebrating Passover and do not want to celebrate Passover with them?
Jews are not required to circumcise Gentiles who are spending Passover with them. However, an uncircumcised male, whether Jewish or Gentile, is prohibited from eating the Passover sacrifice (the lamb), as stated in Exodus 12:48: "But no uncircumcised person may eat of it."
This rule applies only to the Passover offering, not the entire Seder meal. Uncircumcised individuals may still participate in other aspects of Passover, such as eating matzah, bitter herbs, and the four cups of wine.
In ancient times, if a Gentile wished to partake in the Passover sacrifice, he and all males in his household had to be circumcised first. This was a condition for full inclusion in the covenant community and participation in the sacrificial meal.
1:04:00 Muslims say they won't let their children read the New Testament because of its sex and violence.
1:11:00 Praying for me
1:21:00 I am sorry to hear David is sad. I can't pray for him since I am agnostic, but will wish him and his father in law well. Prayer can be therapeutic and David's prayer for me worked, since by praying for me he took on a higher status than me, the supposedly demon-possessed troll with emotional problems. Because we have actually interacted and spoken in real time to each other, the ice has been broken. I look forward to his next Bible Study Class.
