Why even atheists need the Hypothetical Supreme Authority that is the Abrahamic God to settle their disputes

Because it is morally and intellectually necessary to do so.

Atheists do this every time they have a dispute with each other and appeal to a higher authority to decide who wins.

If this were a legal dispute, it would go to the Supreme Court. If they were still not happy, one of them would be invoking some hypothetical entity with more justice than the Supreme Court, whether or not he believed in God.

Let us imagine that this court higher than the Supreme Court of his country could be set up, and he was still not happy with the decision with the International Supreme Court.

If he were still not happy, he would be going higher and higher until he got to God Himself, even if he insisted on calling the Abrahamic God "a Hypothetical Supreme Being".

And so I have demonstrated the logical necessity of the Abrahamic God for atheists.

The nature and purpose of faith

The nature of faith is choosing to believe, the purpose of faith is to keep our supposedly immortal souls safe and good.

The concept of the Abrahamic God certainly exists. Faith is choosing to believe in Him rather than not.

The concept of the Abrahamic God is supreme over any idea because it is impossible to conceive of an entity more powerful than the Abrahamic God. Choosing to believe in Him presupposes a desire to obey His laws, and choosing not to believe in Him presupposes a desire not to obey His laws.

If we wish to obey God's laws, then it would help us to obey His laws better and for longer if we believe in the Abrahamic God who knows our hearts and minds. If we choose not to obey His laws, it would make sense for us not to believe in Him or else we would be forever looking our shoulders fearing His punishment.

Why theocracy is the strongest and most stable form of the rule of law

  1. Because avoiding sexual immorality should not be optional and should have the law's support
  2. Because a law is more likely to be obeyed if it punishes forbidden behaviour
  3. Because a law is more likely to be obeyed if the forbidden behaviour is generally agreed to be immoral
  4. Because a law is more likely to be obeyed if it is all of the above and believed to be from the most powerful entity conceivable whose wisdom affirms an obvious universal and eternal truth from generation to generation
  5. Because it would dispense with the need to relearn the lessons of history and biology, of nature and nurture over and over again
