Are atheists complaining about Jews and Muslims like people without umbrellas complaining about people with umbrellas keeping dry?
People who call themselves nationalists are always complaining about Jews and Muslims. These people are invariably atheist unable to come to terms with the fact that religion is crucial to national identity and solidarity. Also, they seem unable to accept that Christianity has failed and cannot bring themselves to discuss it.

ReplyDeleteAs an atheist I only feel sadness for people who need to believe in mythical creatures to find something meaningful in their lives.
National identity does not require religion, most Britons don’t really give religion much thought.
Some countries in the world have a strong national identity an no religion.
Choosing what’s the best religion is like selecting a superhero from a comic book...batman is better than superman.

ReplyDeleteMost Britain’s don’t feel the need to believe in human created fairy tales , myths and gods. Many will just say ‘Church of England’ when asked their religion as a default.
ReplyDeleteMost only go to church for weddings and funerals and that’s only due to tradition rather than following a religion or faith.
Personally having seen how religion corrupts minds and takes over people’s lives I’m very happy living without it.
