Evidence that the difference between religion and politics is a distinction without a difference

If you are more likely to vote Trump if you believe in God and more likely to vote Biden if you are atheist, then it is true that the distinction between religion and politics is a distinction without a difference.

You are more likely to believe in herd immunity and be against lockdown if you believe in God.

You are more likely to be against lockdown if you are male.

You are more likely to be for lockdown if you are female.

You are more likely to believe in God if you are a social conservative.

You are more likely to be confident of the future if you believe in God.

You are more likely to be risk-averse if you are female and atheist.

Whose preferences should be prioritised?

The West is a matriarchy.

A matriarchy is a society that prioritises the preferences of unmarried mothers.

A patriarchy is a society that prioritises the preferences of married fathers.

Whose preferences should be prioritised if we wish to enjoy the good life under good rational government?
