A woman cannot be caliph
A caliph is a constitutional dictator, which is much preferable to an absolute dictator. If the purpose of a monarch is to lead his army into battle, then this does rather suggest that the monarch should be male. Imagine if this job were to be left to a woman - one would wonder what was wrong with the men that they would leave such a job to a woman!
